of community agency/organization:
This is a long term care home with about 125 senior residents with a variety of function levels.
Position Title:
Activation Department or Laundry
What you will do:
We need volunteers to help run our tuck shop, to help out with programs, special events, friendly visits and outings. We also need volunteers to help do folding in our laundry department.
Skills required:
- respectful
- friendly and positive
- enjoys being with people
- comfortable being around seniors
- reliable
Skills you will learn:
- you will learn effective ways of communicating with seniors
- you will learn how develop meaningful relationships and the value of companionship
- may learn how to set up for an event and how to facilitate a program
- you will learn about what life is like in a seniors home.
Length of time required:
whatever time you can give

You can call Leanne at the home, or come and visit us, and fill out a volunteer application at the front desk. Then Leanne will call each applicant to come in for an interview.
