Description
of community agency/organization:
Date: Saturday, June 17, 2006 . The Brampton Folk Festival is
a free non-profit family oriented community event designed to entertain
members of the community of all age groups by celebrating folk music in a
broad range of styles. The goal of the festival is to increase appreciation
of the arts within Brampton. The festival is marketed towards local families
and fans of folk music in Southern Ontario.
Position Title:
Folk Festival Volunteers
What you will do:
A variety of positions are available including: Setup &
Teardown (moving equipment, putting up tents and signs, handing out flyers);
Children's Crafts (help children make crafts); Gopher (running errands,
whatever needs to be done); and more...
Skills required:
Volunteers must be responsible, reliable, punctual, polite.
Volunteers will be assigned tasks that are appropriate for their skills.
Other helpful skills: Heavy Lifting (for setup/teardown), Working with
Children (Children's Crafts)
Skills you will learn:
-teamwork, working with others
-customer service/working with the public
-event planning skills
Length of time required:
We need people of all ages between 7:30 am and midnight, for 3 hour shifts, doing a variety of duties.
